Doubling the Community while Preserving the Collective DNA
The Challenge: Leading a large multi-disciplinary team of consultants to chart the future of the Kibbutz. The plan manages the total housing quota permitted under national regulations, effectively doubling the number of residential units and the community's size. The core challenge was integrating this massive growth while maintaining the Kibbutz as a safe, walkable, and cohesive environment.
The Architectural Solution:
The design is centered around a "Green Ring"—a continuous sequence of open spaces that bridges the old and new parts of the Kibbutz. This ring connects residential areas with public facilities, sports, recreation, and employment zones, ensuring a unified and harmonious expansion.
Project Highlights:
Walkability & Safety: A fundamental principle prioritizing pedestrian movement, creating a safe environment for children and a car-free public realm.
The Green Ring Connectivity: Establishing a lush green loop that links all parts of the Kibbutz and provides seamless access to the surrounding natural landscape.
Holistic Development: Managing large-scale growth across all sectors—housing, industry, and leisure—to ensure long-term community resilience.
