Revitalizing the Tzochar Complex in the Aftermath of October 7th
The Challenge: Following the events of October 7th, there was a critical need to establish a safe educational environment in the council’s "rear" to support the return of residents. We were tasked with transforming an abandoned complex in Tzochar into a functioning school within just three months, addressing urgent security needs and deep community concerns.
The Architectural Solution:
What began as a rapid renovation to provide immediate protected spaces and classrooms evolved into a long-term vision for a Multi-Purpose Campus. The project bridges education, employment, and leisure, creating a hub for community unity. It involves the rehabilitation of existing structures, new construction, and the design of a natural park that integrates all campus components.
Project Highlights:
Resilience-Driven Design: Responding to the community’s need for "emotional and physical safety" through strategic relocation and calming architectural language.
Adaptive Reuse: Breathing new life into long-abandoned structures, turning them into a vibrant 24/7 hub for the entire region.
Rapid Response Planning: Demonstrating the ability to deliver high-quality architectural solutions under extreme time constraints (3-month turnaround).
The Unified Campus: A holistic master plan that uses a natural park as the connective tissue between learning, culture, and community growth.
